Here’s two of those Ethical Principles :

1. Respect This principle means that:

● people should be kept as informed as possible ● people should have the chance to express their views on matters that affect them

● people’s personal choices about their treatment and care should be respected as much as possible

● when people are not able to decide, those who have to decide for them should take decisions based on the best interests of the person as a whole rather than just based on their health needs.

2. Minimising the harm that a pandemic could cause During a pandemic

So, in accordance with the Ethical Principles for dealing with a pandemic of Govt UK, I have had translated the German Report on Covid. As the Times reported on 13 May 2020:

A German ministerial adviser has been sacked for circulating a report that described coronavirus as a “false alarm” and accused the government of causing “a large number of avoidable deaths” through its lockdown.

The 92-page document was drawn up by a civil servant in the interior ministry and leaked to a right-wing website, apparently after he felt that his misgivings were being ignored by his superiors.

“The (entirely unforced) collateral damage of the corona crisis has by now become gigantic,” it says. “The protection measures ordered by the state … have meanwhile lost any purpose but remain largely in force.

“We urgently recommend completely lifting them in short order in order to prevent [further] damage to the population, particularly in the form of unnecessary additional deaths.”

It also charges Angela Merkel’s government with pumping out misinformation about the disease and becoming “potentially the biggest producer of fake news”.
